PCOS Challenge: The National Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Association has available internships for the best and brightest graduate students seeking meaningful professional development in the field of social media management.

Overview

This internship is a special opportunity for students to hone their social media and communications skills with the largest patient advocacy organization globally addressing one of the most common human disorders, PCOS. Students will:

• Have an opportunity to work with the PCOS Challenge Executive Leadership Team on national and global multimedia, multichannel campaigns and communications.

• Gain hands-on experience developing strategy, copy, health communications, advertising, marketing, and advocacy and awareness campaigns.

• Learn how to optimize content and measure and manage the effectiveness of their communications and campaigns through various analytics tools and methods.

• Learn how to marry principles of influence with communication best practices and the latest technologies, including social listening, AI, and machine learning for writing and analytics.

Position Experience Requirements:

• Previous social media management experience with a major corporation, government agency, marketing firm or nonprofit organization

• Outstanding written communication skills

• Strong Canva design skills

• Experience creating engaging reels, carousels, stories and posts

• Peer-to-peer or social media fundraising experience is a plus

Responsibilities:

1. Execute the organization's social media strategy to grow its online presence, increase brand awareness, and improve the effectiveness of its online awareness and fundraising campaigns and event promotions.

2. Maintain the organization's Social Media Content Calendar.

3. Help produce content for all social media accounts, including Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

4. Coordinate and support live stream events.

5. Monitor all social media accounts and respond to follower inquiries.

6. Analyze the performance of content and campaigns.

7. Stay up-to-date with the latest social media best practices and technologies.

All project work may be done remotely.

Minimum Internship Time Commitment: 3 months

Mentoring and leadership development training opportunities are available.

We invite you to answer two video questions. Please note the following:

1. You should respond to all questions in English.

2. Keep responses brief: Videos should be no longer than three minutes each.

3. You have three retakes for video questions. The production quality of your videos does not affect our decision (i.e., camera and microphone). We simply want to assess your responses to these questions.

What is the next stage in the recruitment process?

If you pass this stage, you will have a live interview. If you pass the live interview, you will be formally accepted to our Leadership and Management Trainee Program for your practicum or internship.

How long does the recruitment process take?

Once we receive your application, we will evaluate your responses within a week. If you pass the initial screening process, we will schedule your live interview for the following week. If you are selected, you should receive a formal acceptance letter within three weeks of your video submission. The entire recruitment process typically takes 2-3 weeks.

If I am offered a position, when do I need to start?

We have internship and practicum opportunities available in Spring, Summer, and Fall. If you are offered a position, we will arrange a start date based on your availability and circumstances.
